Shhhh…

I picked up a couple of things so far for Lucian’s birthday. I figure I can get this stuff now and worry not have to worry about it.

The first one is Lupin the 3rd and his awesome Fiat 500 from the Castle of Cagliostro. Lupin is in his Miyazaki blue suit and the car is made out of diecast metal. He’s always loved that car because of the insane sequence in the movie. Now he can do it when his birthday hits.

The other one is the Slave I from Star Wars. He’s been wanting more ships to play with and I found this one for cheap on eBay. Insanely cheap. It comes with Han in Carbonite. Maybe after he gets it, I’ll take a photo where I can superimpose it on the Jesus in Carbonite outside his school.

Garden Delight

A test site for the Vanilla2/Garden framework. I want to see how successful it can used and understood over traditional Invision Boards. If you can, give it a go.

Afrodisiac

The love for comics skirts back almost twenty years for me. It’s gone from Star Trek to X-Men to Green Lantern/Flash and now it’s going past the mainstream and into the stark world of everything else.

Superheros are great, but sometimes, you need something like Afrodisiac to make your blood pump faster. You wonder to just extend out a few feet at something so wonderful that you remember why you love comics.

You get this image and you get the sense of the whole book. The clouds part, the deserts rain and lust fills the air.

Rugg also put together a trailer for the book being released from AdHouse. If this doesn’t sell you on getting this for your enjoyment and then later the enjoyment for others. There is no joy left in the world.

Now go buy the book.

Apple Store Adventures

Going into an Apple Store is pretty much the same as getting into an Independent Record Store. You can feel the snobbery filling the room. The place is actually pretty cold and 60′s art deco villainy, but they have all the good stuff there. Two walls of gear makes it seem like you’re about ready to head into war with hipster kids.

I couldn’t find the iPod Touch stylus. Had to ask about it. In goes the pomp hair and out comes the awesome that is the stylus that makes drawing on the iPod easier. It was fun to begin with, but you can only do so much with a what amounts to finger painting.

But the checkout was weird. It was an iPod with a price & credit card scanner. No receipt. Just e-mailed away. That was cool.

My son saw the two computers that had the lego games running and was completely drawn to them. I let him go over without supervision to look at the games. I think I found the other point where I can say I have a nerd kid. And I also found a place that he can wonder around and as long as I keep an eye and ear out for him, he’ll be fine hanging about.

We might have to go back soonish.

Ugh… This weather

I will bitch about the weather, but with Snowpocalypse, it’s all I can do at times. There is so much snow coming down on the East Coast, I have to look at the Southwest Desert and just go ugh…

Look at what I have to deal with here…

Sometimes a movie just makes you believe that you can fly.

This isn’t that movie, but this is a post-Jay & Silent Bob film that Kevin Smith has directed and there were so great gags in it.
